Rafael Bello Wedding

This summer is turning out to be a watershed of Old Boys’ weddings! The season started out on May 25, Rafael Bello (’14) married Daniela Maria Barrios in a beautiful ceremony at Holy Rosary Church in Houston.

The wedding seemed once again like a reunion of Western faculty and Old Boys, with Western’s very own Chaplain, Fr. John Boles, celebrating the Mass and presiding over the marriage.

Edmund Carroll (’13) and David O’Bar (’13) served as Rafa’s Groomsmen and Mass servers included (below in order of seniority) C J Carroll (‘16), Paul Cosgray (‘23), Bill and Will Efting and Thomas Nichols (all rising 8th). Joseph Nichols (‘21) was the organist for the Mass.

Rafael has worked at Western as an Intern for the past four years, teaching Music, Chess & Strategy and Math, running all-school Chess tournaments, coaching Football, Basketball and Track, and helping in many great ways.

Congrats to the newlyweds and especially to Rafael’s parents, Carmen and Frank Bello, who were among Western’s Founding Families when Rafael entered Western as a student in 2010.

Mrs. Carmen Bello left a permanent, loving mark at the young school, serving as School Secretary and fac totum during those early years.
