Southpaw Headed to UT

After a very successful spring 2024 high school season for the Memorial Mustangs, Matthew Manis (’22), played for the San Diego Padres scout team in the summer as well as a few other tournaments in the fall. In these events, he had a 2-0 record in 21 innings, struck out 40 batters for a 1.00 ERA. This past fall, Matthew committed to pitch for the University of Texas Longhorns.

As a high school Junior, Matthew is ranked the #2 left-handed pitcher in Texas and #12 nationally for his 2026 class. The Mustang’s season has just begun and the team is ranked #2 6A in Texas. Congrats, Matthew and good luck moving forward!
