Strength and Conditioning Camp

Modeled off a popular club offered during the school year here at Western Academy, the Strength & Conditioning Camp seeks to teach boys the fundamental calisthenic exercises, such as pull-ups, push-ups, sprinting, squats, vertical jumping and other gymnastic movements. By focusing on the proper form and method for each of these exercises, your boy will learn how to perform the movements safely and effectively, thus giving him a toolkit of basic but highly beneficial exercises that will serve him well throughout his life.

Once he has experienced the value and simplicity of body-weight exercises, your boy will begin to see any jungle gym, park, forest, or hill as an invigorating place to push his body to new heights, or just practice what has learned here. No matter what sport your son plays, the exercises drilled in this camp will help him to grow as an athlete. Boys of all physical abilities are welcome, so long as they are willing to push themselves a little beyond their comfort zone each day.

We will also do rope and tree-climbing, team relay-races and obstacle runs, as well as various outdoor games.
