Malanga on the Links

On June 5, Alex Malanga (‘20) qualified with a three-under par for the US Jr. Amateur Tournament, which will be played in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, July 22-27.

On June 17, he also passed the first stage qualifying with a two-under par for the US Amateur which will be played in Hazeltine, MN, In August.  The final stage qualifying for the US Amateur will be the middle of July. 

After Western, Alex graduated from The Woodlands Christian Academy this May where his team won the TAPPS 5A State Championship. Alex was also TAPPS 5A District Champ in May. In the fall, Alex will attend Sam Houston State University to play NCAA Division 1 golf.

Alex also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout this year. Congrats to Alex and good luck, young man!
